Do it yourself?
After the planting of your garden some maintenance will be required to keep it looking great. The installation process will leave you with a weed-free, well-mulched garden of flowers that will look wonderful for months.
However, sooner or later weeds will begin to appear, and flowering plants will need cutting back, dead heading, dividing, and possibly replacement. Over time plants may grow too large for the space allotted to them - and nearby trees may provide more or less shade than when the site was originally planted and so changes to the garden may need to be made.
Have our expert gardeners take care of your garden for you!
Expert Garden Care Service
$3.00 per square foot per season paid in advance.
For a typical front yard garden 15' by 20' (300 square feet) this is $900.
For this price you will only need to dead head the flowers occasionally (if you wish) and water the garden if it does not rain from more that a week at a time. We will do the rest.
- We will tend your garden approximately 6 times per year.
- Start with a spring clean up in April.
- Then a bulb clean up, weeding, and topdressing in May/June.
- In July/August/Sept we weed and apply an application of mulch, add supports to any plants that require it, and cut back all of the early flowering plants to make room for the next wave of colour.
- In October/Nov we put the garden to bed for winter - cutting back plants that need it, mulch and weed as needed.
- Price includes soil amendments, mulches, and plant replacement as needed.
We don't just clean up with this service - we are expert gardeners and we love our gardens to grow more beautiful each year!

Want to do it yourself?
The time required to maintain your garden will depend on the size of the plot, and to some extent the type of plants that were planted. As well, the location and amount of sun and water the garden receives will be a factor.
In general shady gardens take less care than sunny ones. Gardens that are surrounded by well kept areas with few weeds will have less trouble with weeds than gardens located next to wild or poorly kept areas. Your preferences for "tidiness level" may also be a factor.
You may decide to do all of the gardening yourself - since many people find gardening a pleasant and rewarding hobby. It is much quieter and more interesting than cutting a lawn and may take only a bit more time.
If you would like to do it yourself but are not sure how, we offer classes seminars and one on one coaching services to help.
- Happy gardening!
